On April 27, at the University Club, GSPIA welcomed Ambassador Donald Mahley ’71, Special Negotiator for Nonproliferation with the U.S. Department of State in Washington, D.C., and a member of the United Nations Secretary General’s Disarmament Advisory Board, as the guest speaker at GSPIA’s annual graduation luncheon. Mahley, who graduated from GSPIA with a Master’s in Public and International Affairs, received the Distinguished Alumnus Award last year in Washington D.C. Mahley gave praise to GSPIA and noted that the “curriculum puts you students to wrestle with complex issues of governance. It is not government but governance.”

Ted Archer (MPA '09) and Jacqueline Noisette (MPA ’06) will speak about their experiences as Capital City Fellows. The CCF Program is an initiative to attract recent graduates of master's degree programs in public administration, public policy, urban planning and related fields to work for the city of Washington, DC.
