
Pi Alpha Alpha Inducts New Members
On April 13, 2007, the induction ceremony was held for new members of the University of Pittsburgh Chapter of Pi Alpha Alpha, the national honorary society for public affairs and public administration. Students receiving this honor achieved high academic standing in their MPA degree programs.
Receiving honorary memberships were alumna Peggy B. Harris (MPA ‘78) and Dr. Michael Gold, retired faculty member. Harris, who has worked in the non- profit sector for over 20 years, is the chief executive officer of Three Rivers Youth, a private non-profit agency providing services to abused, neglected, runaway and homeless youth between the ages of 12-21 and their families. Professor Gold retired from GSPIA after a 30-year career and pioneered courses in computers and computer applications, teaching in both GSPIA’s masters and doctoral programs.
New members inducted were Athena Aardweg, Elizabeth Accetta, Holly Arnold, Debra Engler, Jessica Friedrichs, Christian Hald-Mortensen, Ryan Jeroski, Abir Matar, Lisa Russo, and David Totten.
