Masters
degree students at GSPIA may choose to pursue a joint
degree with any one of five other schools at the University
of Pittsburgh:
-
The Graduate School of Public Health
-
The
Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business
-
School
of Information Sciences
-
School
of Law
-
School
of Social Work
In addition to broadening their academic experience,
students who obtain joint degrees can enhance their
potential career options. Joint degrees may be earned
in less time than would be required if the degrees
were completed separately. Students
select majors/specializations according to each degree
program's rules and procedures.
Basic
Requirements for All GSPIA Joint Degree Programs
The
basic requirements for GSPIA joint degree programs
are that students must:
-
apply
at GSPIA & the other school and state their
intention to complete a joint degree
-
meet all minimum requirements of both schools
-
be admitted prior
to completing 24 credits at GSPIA
-
complete
36 credits at GSPIA
-
complete three terms
of residency at GSPIA
Joint
degrees are awarded concurrently; if students resign
from one program and elect to remain in the other,
they will be subject to the single degree requirements
of that particular degree program.
Each
of the joint degree programs has specific registration
and course requirements that may periodically change.
Students interested in enrolling in joint degree programs
are encouraged to contact the joint degree faculty
coordinators at both
schools.
