GSPIA Recognize Long-Term Staff

GSPIA staff
members provide mission-critical support to the University
and the School, its faculty and students, in countless
ways. In December 2006, three GSPIA staff members
were recognized for their dedication and service to
the University and GSPIA. They are:
Joyce
Valiquette, 30 years of service

Joyce
serves as Instructional Support Secretary for GSPIA's
Division of Public and Urban Affairs and GSPIA's
Undergraduate Program. Joyce also plans the school's
annual Pi Alpha Alpha induction ceremony.
Michele
Garrity, 10 years of service

Michele
is the Director of GSPIA's Executive Education/MPPM
program and is also an Adjunct Instructor, teaching
courses such as Forced Migration, UNHCR and Durable
Solutions; A Grassroots Approach to Project Planning
& Design; and Skills in Development Management:
Project Monitoring and Evaluation. Prior to joining
GSPIA, Michele was with the University Challenge
for Excellence Programs, a Department of Education
grant in Pitt's College of Arts and Sciences.
Susan
Sawyers, 5 years of service

Sue
serves as Instructional Support Secretary for GSPIA's
Doctoral Program. Prior to joining GSPIA, Sue was
with the Center for Public Health Practice at Pitt's
Graduate School of Public Health.
