GSPIA welcomes two new visiting economics professors for the 2007-2008 school year.
Pittsburgh - GSPIA is pleased to announce the hiring of two new visiting economics professors for the 2007-2008 school year. Dr. Akinori Tomohara and Dr. Alok Ray will join GSPIA effective September 1, 2007.
Akinori Tomohara received his PhD in economics from Johns Hopkins University in 2002 and a BA in economics from Waseda University, Japan. He is currently an associate professor with the Department of Economics at the University of Kitakyushu, Japan. Dr. Tomohara has specializations include international economics, public economics, and economic development.
Alok Ray received his PhD in economics from University of Roches, New York in 1972, MA in economics in 1965 from Calcutta University, India, and a BA in economics in 1963 from Presidency College, Calcutta, India. Dr. Ray's previous teaching experiences include Cornell University, University of Rochester, Queen's University, Canada, Monash University, Melbourne, Australia, Delhi School of Economics, Delhi University , India, and the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, India. Dr. Ray's past consultancies include the United Nations, World Bank, and Government of India. Dr. Ray's specializations includes international economics, microeconomics, macroeconomics, economic development, financial markets, Indian Economic Issues, and globalization and developing/emerging economics.
